Libraries Structure-a review Friday, Aug 8 2008

Tasman District Libraries is one organisation with 4 sites  which extends its services wider via the website and the link libraries.   The four libraries are in turn supported by  and serviced by the District Library .

The District Library staff include:  the Libraries Manager, much  of Technical Services team, the Collections Librarian,  and to a greater or lesser degree all of the rest of the Management Team – Information Services, Children’s, Customer Services, and the Branch Librarians.

With the exception of the Branch Librarians, most of the people with District functions  actually work at the Richmond site and also work in the Richmond library.

As part of the management team, the Branch librarians also  have District functions -particularly in the areas of policy and procedures development.

All the work that is of a District nature supports all  library sites and also the web site.
