Today we spent up at council working with real issues and brainstorming.
I was very lucky to get given libraries as my topic. The problem statement was about the current library services model and whether the future of library services might look different. This was a great place to start to explore the many options for library based products and services for the future especially in the 10 year planning for the LTCCP.
The other two council people on this team are Mandy Tomlinson from IT and Trevor James. Mandy and Trevor will be needing help from libraries staff for this project in the next week or two as part of the fact gathering exercise.
We need to present to council in 4 weeks time. If you are contacted, please help Mandy and Trevor with any information they need as part of this project as it will help us to put the very best set of alternatives in front of council in four weeks time.
The process is both exciting and daunting and we have only a short amount of time to get lots of data in then present it. But the better our information is going into the process the better our outcomes will be.
After 4 weeks I’l be set another project for the LTCCP and this will continue until October.
Hopefully however we’ll get the green light to continue exploring options for the libraries and this will run along side the other projects
